Our History
Founded by Sudha Kanwar, PL Medical provided United States customers x-ray film in 1988. Our product offerings quickly expanded to include surgical blades as well as a vast variety of x-ray products. In the early 2000’s PL Medical expanded our offerings to include dosimetry services (NVLAP lab code 200666-0) and ophthalmic products. Today we continue to expand our product range to include I.V. sets, safety catheters and video laryngoscopes.
A Focus on Design
PL Medical’s design and development team continues to look at medical trends and provide unique solutions to the medical community. Our GuideBlade system is unique in the market and provides a safe and precise method for wire-guided catheter insertion. We continue to look at the market and expand our engineering expertise to other safety-sharps devices.
Dosimetry Services
The PL Medical dosimetry program commenced in 2003. We operate our state-of-the-art dosimetry services laboratory from Bloomfield, Connecticut. From our laboratory we offer our customers unparalleled customer support from our Unites States based staff. You can always expect to speak directly to one-of our fully trained staff regarding any questions you may have regarding your service.

Distribution
Since our founding PL Medical has worked with our customers to ensure an uninterrupted supply of products delivered throughout North and South America.
We are well versed in managing a vast array of supply chain aspects from our national healthcare distribution customers, hospitals as well as individual clinics.
Certifications
Since 2003 we have been a NVLAP accredited (lab code 200666-0) dosimetry service provider. PL Medical has been listed as a Small Business Enterprise by the State of Connecticut since 2010. In 2015 PL Medical was certified by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (certificate number GN03407). In addition, PL Medical is a proud member of the Healthcare Suppliers Diversity Alliance (HSDA).
